Mr. Ambat

I am a graduate of a State University in the Philippines with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in Physics. This is my second year at Nash Central High School, but I have been in the teaching profession for 19 years. I believe that to be a great teacher, you have to treat teaching as a vocation, not a profession.

Mr. Poyer

I am a Science teacher and its my 23rd year of teaching. My wife and I are blessed with 40 years of marriage, 4 beautiful daughters, 1 beautiful grand daughter and 5 grandsons. I am from the Islands of American Samoa and my wife is from St. Paul, Minnesota. We met at the University of Albuquerque, NM. I was a soldier in the US Army for 11 years, active and 8 years reserve. I did graduate from the University of Colorado with Bachelors in Science-Biology. Jesus is Lord for 65 years!

Mr. Sheek

A teacher since 2003, but here at Nash Central since the 2020-2021 school year. I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2001, and obtained my teaching license in math & science through the Lateral-Entry program. I have a beautiful 5-yr old daughter who is in charge.

Mr. Wozniak

I have been teaching Science at Nash Central High School since 2004 after beginning my teaching career at Rocky Mount Prep in 2002. I graduated from the University of Miami (FL) in 1991 with a B.S. in Marine Science & Physics, studied Meteorology/Atmospheric Sciences at Pennsylvania State University, and earned a Master’s Degree in Teaching from ECU in 2006. The well-known quotations ““Education is not the learning of facts, but training the mind to think.” and “Excellence is the gradual result of always striving to do better” describe both my teaching philosophy and my personal approach to life.
