Fee Waivers for ACT, SAT, and College Applications

If you receive free or reduced lunch you qualify for two ACT fee waivers and two SAT fee waivers while in high school. After using an SAT fee waiver Collegeboard will then upload four college application fee waivers to your account. You will need to bring the letter stating that you have free or reduced lunch to your counselor in order to receive a waiver. If you no longer have the letter you can call 252-462-2491 and request another one.

Class of 2023: Requirements for Graduation

-English I, II, III, IV
-Math I, II, III and a fourth mathematics course
-Earth/Environmental Science, Biology, Physical Science or Chemistry
-World History, Civics and Economics, American History I, American History II
-Health & Physical Education
-12 general electives (CTE, ROTC, Arts, World Language, Any other subject area or cross-disciplinary courses).

-English I, II, III, IV
-Math I, II, III and a fourth mathematics course
-Earth/Environmental Science, Biology, Physical Science or Chemistry
-World History, Civics, American History I/II or American History, Economics & Personal Finance

Class of 2025: Requirements for Graduation

-World History, Founding Principles of US and NC: Civic Literacy, American History, Economics & Personal Finance
-Health & Physical Education

Nash Community College Career and College Promise

Juniors and Seniors can take NCC classes while in high school. These courses are worth a high school as well as college credit.The requirements for being eligible for NCC CCP classes are below.

College Transfer:

• Must have an unweighted GPA of 2.8 or higher to qualify

• Tuition-Free

• Student pays for course materials such as textbooks

• Classes offered online and on-campus

 CTE Programs:

• Principal or designee may sign and give a rationale for students to enter with less than 2.8 unweighted GPA

• Tuition-Free

• All course materials such as textbooks are free

• Classes offered online and on-campus

Clemson University Summer Scholars

Clemson University is offering fun and educationa residential programs in June, July and August for students entering 7th to 12th grade in the fall. Program offerings range from Engineering and Biology to Audio Engineering and Music Production and many diverse programs. YMCA Learn to Lead Junior Counselor Program

This program is designed for participants ages 15 and 16 and is intended to give them the opportunity to learn the skills and responsibilities of an effective Summer Camp counselor. This program will introduce and support taking on new responsibilities, learning and refining skills and instilling leadership within each JC. This will ease the transition from youth to junior counselor and onto a full Summer Camp counselor.

NC State Summer College in Biotechnology and Life Sciences (SCIBLS)

This is a program for high school rising juniors and seniors. Students earn college credits, work in state-of-the-art labs, learn scientific presentation skills, visit biotechnology research and production labs on campus and surrounding Raleigh areas, and experience college life. Students may commute or live on campus.
